On a cool Monday morning
in October of 1990, John Day left his home in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania
to visit his 98 year old grandmother in Massachusetts. To finance
the trip, he took with him samples of indoor oak furniture made by
a local Amish craftsman to show to a couple of stores on the way to
Grandma's nursing home. After two stops and over $6,000 in orders,
Amish Oak Direct was born.
Located in the heart of Amish country, Day Enterprises (official name)
has sought to find Amish manufacturers that build quality furniture
at a reasonable price, and then find stores whose customers would
want to buy it. With the advent of this website, we can now offer
our line of products directly to individuals. |
